Paulo A. Pena
Chief Executive Officer and President
Paulo A. Pena has been Chief Executive Officer and President of Carrols Restaurant Group since April 1, 2022. Most recently, Mr. Pena was Chief Operating Officer of Selina, one of the world’s fastest growing hospitality brands, where he was responsible for overall hotel operations for the company’s portfolio of over 95 properties. Prior to joining Selina, he was a Vice President at McDonald’s USA, where, among other things, he oversaw operations at over 800 McDonald’s-owned locations in the United States. He also worked on remodels, acquisitions and divestitures of over 200 company-owned restaurants, oversaw the opening of McDonald’s global flagship restaurant in New York’s Times Square, and helped advance customer service initiatives, menu enhancements and digital innovation at the company. Prior to working at McDonald’s, Mr. Pena served as President and Managing Director, Latin America and Caribbean Region, at the Wyndham Hotel Group, where he was responsible for overseeing a portfolio of over 200 franchised and managed hotels in 20 countries across 14 brands. He also spent 10 years at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, working on strategic partnerships, operations and as a member of the corporate team. Mr. Pena’s early career was at The Coca-Cola Company and Ernst & Young LLP where he worked in various international finance roles. Mr. Pena received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Business in Finance and Accounting from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. Born in Uruguay, Mr. Pena grew up in Australia and moved to the United States 20 years ago.
Anthony E. Hull
Chief Financial Officer
Anthony E. Hull has served as Chief Financial Officer since January 2020. Mr. Hull most recently served a Senior Advisor on corporate strategy and capital markets projects at Realogy Holdings Corp. and previously was the company’s Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer from 2006 to 2018. During his tenure, he was responsible for financial and strategic planning, accounting, budgeting, capital structure, controls and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, procurement, and facilities, among other disciplines. Previously, Mr. Hull served as Executive Vice President, Finance at Cendant Corporation from 2003 to 2005. At Cendant he was responsible for financial, strategic, and capital planning and sourced, managed, and executed company-wide domestic and international mergers and acquisitions activity. Earlier in his career, Mr. Hull was Head of Finance, Accounting and IT at DreamWorks, LLC from 1996 to 2003; Chief Financial Officer at King World Productions, Inc. from 1994 to 1995; and Corporate Vice President, Financial Planning at Paramount Communications, Inc. from 1990 to 1994. He began his career at Morgan Stanley & Co. in the mergers and acquisitions department for the media/entertainment group, where he served as Associate and later Vice President from 1984 to 1990.
Joseph Hoffman
Senior Vice President, Operations
Joe Hoffman has been the Senior Vice President, Operations of Carrols since May 2022. Mr. Hoffman was a Division Vice President, Operations from June 2017 until April 2022 and a Vice President, Region Director from June 1997 until May 2017. Mr. Hoffman has been an employee of Carrols since 1993, when he joined the Company as a District Manager.
Richard G. Cross
Vice President, Chief Development Officer
Richard G. Cross has been Vice President and Chief Development Officer since December 2021. Mr. Cross was Vice President, Real Estate from July 2001 until December 2021 and Director of Real Estate from 1994 until July 2001. He served as a Real Estate Manager from 1993 until 1994 and as a Real Estate Representative from 1987 until 1993. Mr. Cross joined Carrols in May 1984 and held various positions in the Purchasing Department until 1987.
Gerald J. DiGenova
Vice President, Human Resources
Gerald J. DiGenova has been Vice President, Human Resources since July 2001. Mr. DiGenova was Director of Human Resources from January 1996 until June 2001. He served as Director of Safety and Risk Management from 1992 until December 1995 and Personnel Manager from January 1985 until January 1992. Mr. DiGenova has been an employee of Carrols since 1973, when he began as an hourly restaurant team member.
Ahmad Filsoof
Vice President, Strategic Initiatives
Ahmad Filsoof has been the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Carrols since June 2022. Prior to joining Carrols, Mr. Filsoof was Head of Sales Strategy, Operations, Enablement and Planning at Amazon Web Services from May 2020 to January 2022, where he led business strategy and planning, forecasting, management reporting and go-to-market strategy. Before Amazon Web Services, Mr. Filsoof worked at McDonald’s from August 2017 until January 2020, where, among other things, he served as Senior Director, Strategy, Insights and Strategic Initiatives. In that role, Mr. Filsoof led strategy and planning for the company’s U.S. division and was also responsible for strategy development, measuring performance and providing consumer and business insights. Prior to joining McDonald’s, Mr. Filsoof was a management consultant for ten years, including at The Boston Consulting Group, where he led client engagements across a range of industries, including retail, CPG and food services. Mr. Filsoof has an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Jared L. Landaw
Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Jared L. Landaw has served as the Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. since February 2021. Prior to joining Carrols, Mr. Landaw was the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Barington Capital Group, L.P., an investment firm that assists publicly traded companies in designing and implementing initiatives to improve long-term value. In this role, he frequently served as a director, corporate secretary, acting general counsel or an advisor to companies in Barington's investment portfolio, providing assistance with acquisitions, director recruiting, investor relations, SEC filings, corporate compliance, corporate governance and board matters. Prior to joining Barington, Mr. Landaw was the Vice President of Law of International Specialty Products Inc. (formerly NYSE: ISP) and an associate in the New York office of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP. Mr. Landaw received J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and Managing Editor of the Columbia Business Law Review.
Nathan B. Mucher
Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Nathan B. Mucher has been Vice President and Chief Information Officer since November 2018. Prior to joining Carrols, Mr. Mucher served as Vice President, Information Technology for Krispy Kreme Doughnuts from 1999 until 2018. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mucher was a consultant for Novartis Animal Health from July 1998 to December 1998; a System Analyst for JS Walker & Company, an information technology consulting service provider, from 1996 until 1998; and a senior programmer for William James and Associates, an information technology consulting service firm, from 1994 until 1996. Mr. Mucher received an MBA from High Point University and a Bachelor of Business in Information Systems from Taylor University. 
Gretta Miles
Controller and Assistant Treasurer
Gretta Miles has been the Controller of Carrols since February of 2020 and its Assistant Treasurer since June 2022. She also served as its Financial Reporting Manager from November 2011 to September 2017, with responsibility for external reporting, technical accounting and board reporting, before temporarily leaving the Company to serve as the Director of Finance for Dinosaur Bar-B-Que from September 2017 to September 2018 and then Director of Accounting and Reporting at TCGplayer.com from September 2018 to February 2020. Ms. Miles, who is a licensed CPA, began her career in public accounting, first as an auditor at Deloitte from June 2003 through November 2008 in New York, NY and then as an Audit Manager at Dannible & McKee, LLP from December 2008 through November 2011 in Syracuse, NY.
